New Podcast: A conversation on rising-gen readiness, coaching, and mentorship with The UHNW Institute

I was pleased to join Russ Haworth, Bryn Monahan, and Jessica McGawley for The UHNW Institute's conversation on rising-gen readiness, coaching, and mentorship.

One theme we explored is that preparing the next generation requires more than presenting information. There is a difference between riding in the car and being in the driver’s seat. A rising-gen family member may hear the explanations, attend the meetings, and see the route many times. But readiness develops when they have supported opportunities to use judgment, make choices, and carry responsibility themselves.

Teaching can explain the system. Education can help people understand it. Development helps people become more capable of using what they know in real situations, with real choices and consequences.
