Free Webinar: When Clients Ask for a "Simple" Estate Plan - Thursday, September 24, 2026 - 4p-5p EDT
“When you say ‘simple,’ what would simplicity make easier for you?”
That question can change an estate-planning conversation.
A client asking for a “simple” plan may be concerned about cost, time, comprehension, administrative burden, family issues, or loss of control. Understanding what simplicity is meant to accomplish helps the advisory team decide where complexity is useful, where it can be reduced, and what risks or responsibilities may be shifted to others.
Martin Shenkman and I explore this in our recently published Wealth Management dot com article on disciplined simplicity.
Next Thursday, September 24, from 4:00–5:07 PM ET, we’ll take the discussion further in a free webinar for lawyers, CPAs, financial advisers, and others working with families on estate planning.
We’ll look at practical ways to clarify context and outcomes, develop manageable options, make tradeoffs visible, preserve client agency, and document decisions that need to hold over time.
Participants will also receive a practical guide with sample questions, advisor language, a planning sequence, and documentation prompts they can use in client conversations.
Speakers: Paul Edelman, PhD and Martin Shenkman, Esq
